Hiring a writer to create your blogs is particularly smart and effective if you’ve already determined that sitting down to write 2 or 3 blogs every month is just not going to happen. Before you do hire someone to take this off your plate, there are a few things to consider.

How Some Blog Writing Services Do It

The most important consideration is their process, which is typically reflected in their price. A cheap blogging service will get the job done, and quickly, but it’s not likely something you want representing your brand. For example, the company will say, “just give us some topics, and we’ll generate blogs for you”. This almost always involves them perusing the internet for an article that fits the bill, changing a few words here and there, and inserting the name of your company. Voila, done in less than an hour. Yikes, and no thank you.

I Write Custom Blogs for You to Express Your Brand

If you’re seeking original blog content that sounds like someone in your company wrote it, and carries your brand voice, then allow me to explain my process.

First, I have you fill out a Brand Personality questionnaire that lets me to get a feel for your company voice and preferred style. Next, we go over it together in a Zoom session and discuss preferred keywords and topics of interest. While interviewing you, I’ll fill in a content map so that we have an idea of what we’ll be covering for months to come.

With the information I’ve derived from our interview (I ask a LOT of questions) and the content map we’ve sketched, I can typically get to work on the first 2 to 4 blog posts.

  • You’ll receive a first draft usually within 5 to 7 business days, with a request to mark it up and add comments. You don’t “fix it” or re-write it – just give me your feedback.
  • While you review that, I’ll get to work on the hero image that goes with your blog post. I create the art work using Canva and will use your headshots and branded company photos wherever possible.
  • I’ll make the necessary revisions and send you a second draft.
  • While you review that version, I’ll get to work on a meta description that gets published on your blog page.
  • With the final revisions made, you now have the whole package – an original, branded blog post, image and meta description.

Blogging best practices indicate that twice a month is what’s needed for great visibility and client engagement, so I offer 2 blogs per month.

The only “work” you had to do on your part was to fill out the one-time questionnaire, talk to me during the initial content strategy session, and comment on the 2 drafts of the blog post. What you receive is original work created specifically for your company.

Each month we’ll be chatting in one brief zoom interview session, typically 30 – 40 minutes, to solidify that month’s topics and priorities. And yes, I’ll be the one doing the writing – I don’t farm out work to anyone else.
