Recently, one of my email marketing clients returned from a speaking engagement at a conference.

Here’s a list of the people who attended the talk I gave – please add them to my monthly email marketing”.

Sounds good, and any assistant would do just that.

But as an email marketing specialist, I take your whole marketing strategy into account. I proposed that we send the new list of people a thank you email, summarizing how they met and what she spoke about. So, she crafted a beautiful thank you email.

I tore it to pieces (figuratively).

I changed her tone to be more direct and action-oriented while keeping her pleasant professional brand voice. She liked the edits but we didn’t stop there.

She also sent some positive feedback she received from her talk, and then some AI-generated “reasons you want to invest in this”. She asked, “can you use this somehow?”

Of course. I took the edited thank-you memo plus the AI generated stuff plus the feedback comments, and crafted 3 unique messages using a smorgasbord of content.

We’ll use the 3 messages as a thank you/reminder of her services, spaced several days apart. Then we’ll flow those new people into her regular monthly campaigns.

This whole strategy was not something on her radar, but she loved it. Did I mention she didn’t have to pay an extra fee for this side project?

  • Is this the kind of marketing strategy and planning going on in your business?
  • Do you have someone to create a plan like this with the content and schedule?
  • Is something like this missing from your monthly marketing and follow-ups?

I go beyond the standard monthly newsletter campaign. I market your business as if it were my own. Let’s chat about how we could make this work for you.
