Describe Your Process in an Engaging Manner in Your Blog

When Chelsea took the time and care to build out her process of working with clients, she was proud that she had developed an efficient system that her clients truly appreciated. More than the fact that it “worked”, she could confidently state that most people in her industry didn’t provide their services in exactly the same way. It is part of her Unique Value Proposition, and one that she wanted to convey to her prospects.

But let’s face it – listing out a process can be dry and boring. She was concerned that shortly after listing steps 1 through 3, the eyes would glaze over, heads would nod, and the snoring would start.

Make Your Process Come to Life with Your Energy

How can I explain my process and actually make it sound interesting? Was the quandary she expressed to me. My response? “Leave it to me!”

Having been one of Chelsea’s clients, I knew her process ROCKED, and that her competitors did not approach the service exactly this way. I also knew that her excellent customer service and the superior client experience she delivered consistently succeeded because she carefully followed her process.

As part of my own process as a blog writer, I interviewed Chelsea in a Zoom meeting, recorded her words, took notes, asked questions, and observed when her energy shifted as she relayed her information.

Writing the blog post, I focused on conveying her infectious energy and passion when serving her clients, and the fun atmosphere she created during the service. When she read the blog draft, she was fairly surprised at the result. “I can’t believe you made this sound interesting! I could never do it this way”.

Focus on the Client Experience

It often happens that an outsider’s view will pick up on clues and details that the business owner misses. We are always so far deep inside our heads! And while the service we create and deliver for our clients seems common and matter-of-fact, in reality it is pretty amazing to someone on the outside looking in. That’s the perspective I brought to explaining her process – I saw it from the client’s point of view. I truly appreciated it. That’s something she was unable to manifest, being inside the business.

She was excited to publish the blog post because not only did it present a fresh perspective, I also made it sound like her – using her phrases, her tone of voice. I don’t know that anyone would be able to tell it was not produced by her, and I love when that happens!

A blog post is an excellent place to explain how you deliver your services. While a website page is meant to be skimmed, a blog post gives you the luxury of a little more room to illustrate how you work with clients.

If you have a process in your business that you’re proud of, but don’t believe it could ever sound appealing, working with a writer outside of your company will give that fresh point of view that brightens your blog.

Let’s connect and see how I can make that happen.
