Another Business Chicken & The Egg Conundrum.
When I started my business 17 years ago, a lot of business coaches offered to work with me. I must have been an obvious mess because I met a never-ending stream of them! And while I recognized the need, I had no revenue, so I could not for the life of me understand why/how I would pay for coaching when the coffers were dry.
I felt it was unfair that I had to have money to pay for help on how to make more money. Sort of when banks will only lend money to those who already have it.
I wish I could go back in time for 60 seconds and tell myself that the piece of the puzzle I was missing is called Investing. Some people still don’t see the difference. Basically, when you spend money, you receive something of equal value; when you invest money, you should expect to yield greater value in the end.
Smart entrepreneurs know this early on and they are prepared to use savings (or other sources) to pay for a business consultant, coach, advisor, strategist, etc. Even though that amount of money is not yet sitting in the checking account, you find a way to pay for an investment because at the end of the story, you’ll get paid back and then some.
I wish, back then, that I had the confidence in myself to take advantage of this avenue.
Times have certainly changed and since then I’ve invested in my business in various ways over the years. I never regretted a single time. I always learned a ton and was able to increase my income. I shudder to think what my income would be had I never invested once in my own business success.
Are you having a hard time deciding on whether to invest? Or perhaps you’re struggling with choosing one investment outlet, because several look pretty great.
My best clients typically invest in more than one professional business guidance endeavor. They often pay for a professional group coaching forum and a private guide.
Each professional or group has a different format and something unique to offer. Make this the year that you finally jump into one business guidance investment. Or if you have one already, look for a 2nd, advisory group or professional that balances well with your first investment.
You will get back the money you spent.
You will learn and develop.
You will gain confidence and success!
